Stay away from the shops - If you're trying to avoid buying makeup or clothes, the worst place to be is in a shop that sells these. Being surrounded by plenty of items, offers and people buying things isn't the best way to convince yourself not to get anything. Because of this, these shops should be avoided as much as possible.
Delete emails from retailers - Quite often, retailers such as Feel Unique and Look Fantastic send you emails filled with their latest offers and new products. They know how to draw you in and subsequently end up persuading you to spend lots of money on things you don't need. Delete all of these emails and unsubscribe from their newsletters before it's too late.
Swap with friends - Lots of people will have clothes that don't fit them anymore or they've grown sick of. Likewise with makeup, you will probably have a few products that you bought in the past and either haven't used or trialled and didn't like. If this is so, why not swap these products with a few of your friends' unopened products and clothes? It's a great way to get rid of the things you don't want and try new items without having to buy them.
Allow yourself a treat - Spending bans can be really hard, so you should reward yourself if you consistently keep up with it. Whether it's a non-beauty and fashion incentive or treating yourself to a small product, make sure you really deserve it and aren't just buying it out of desperation. You should also try and make this reward quite cheap, as you are trying to save money after all!
I hope this post has helped you see how you can survive spending bans and realise that you might not need to buy lots of new clothes and makeup. I wish you good luck with saving your money and I'll see you on Sunday with another post!
Love from Daisy x
