Garnier Micellar Water Review

Sunday, July 19, 2015

Micellar waters have rapidly gained popularity over the past couple of years, becoming a staple item in almost all skincare brands. Bioderma kicked off this trend and the beauty community went crazy for it, causing many other companies to create their own. They're well-loved, which is evident as they're even used by makeup artists and models. This micellar water is by Garnier and has received tonnes of positive reviews. Since I've been using it every day in my skincare routine, I thought I'd review it for you.

The difference between micellar waters and regular cleansers is the amazing technology behind it. They contain micellar oil molecules which are an active cleansing ingredient that act as a magnet to impurities. They bind to any oil and dirt molecules that are on the skin and effectively remove them, keeping your skin clean and free from impurities, as well as removing any makeup.

This product comes in a huge 400ml bottle, which I can tell will last me for ages, but probably isn't the most travel-friendly option as it is quite bulky. Although it claims to give you 200 uses, I'm unsure how accurate this is as it depends on how much you use per cleanse. The packaging is sleek and modern, with the bottle and label being transparent with pink accents. The flip-top cap, while being girly and cute, makes it easy to get the product out and stops it from leaking everywhere.

This product is incredibly soothing and refreshing on the skin, being non-irritating and non-drying, even for sensitive skin. It is light and almost moisturising, but people with oily skin don't need to worry about this as it's also non-greasy, making it perfect for people of all skin types. It has no fragrance, is hypoallergenic and isn't tested on animals which are  added bonuses.

Garnier's micellar water isn't at all harsh or irritating on the skin, and can easily remove makeup without the need to rub your face. It's incredibly lightweight on the skin, leaving it smooth and soothed ready for the rest of your skincare routine. It's also great at removing any makeup, with just one swipe making a noticeable difference. There is no need to rinse afterwards, so this is great for quickly taking off your makeup, but being more beneficial than face wipes.

This product, which is supposed to be a substitute for a cleanser, has a primary function of removing skin makeup. I usually use it to take off the top layer of my makeup and then use some more to remove any dirt and oils on my skin. It does this wonderfully, melting away the makeup in a matter of seconds while still being gentle and natural on the skin. Garnier also claim that you can use this to take off eye and lip makeup, making it a multi-purpose product that is really convenient. It does this incredibly well, not stinging my eyes or drying out my lips like other products can do.

Thanks for reading this product review and hopefully you enjoyed hearing about this micellar water in more depth. If you have any requests for products that you'd like me to review then feel free to leave them down below in the comments and I'll try my best to write about them. I'll be back on Wednesday with a new post so I'll see you then.
