The festive period can be an incredibly hectic time of year, with so much to do and see, and it's easy to get caught up in it all and forget many things. I know that every year I have a list as long as my arm of things that I want to do and films to watch, but this hardly ever ends up happening since I'm so busy. I thought that in this post I'd outline all of my goals for December, as hopefully documenting them here will make me more likely to remember everything, and I thought you guys would also like to see what I'll be up to this month!
Be prepared with Christmas shopping
This will be my first year of proper Christmas shopping, and so I'm definitely apprehensive about this huge task! I really don't want to leave it until the last minute, and I want to think everything through rather than rushing to find something that isn't what I hoped for. However, I'm actually really excited for this, and since I'm in Manchester for university it definitely calls for a trip to the Trafford Centre one evening (stay tuned to here more about this on my blog!)
Make the most of being in a new city at Christmas
There's so much to do and see in a city like Manchester, and so I definitely want to make the most of it! The Christmas markets here are known to be some of the best in the country, and so I'll definitely be checking them out (although I've already had quite a few cheeky visits!) and I'll also be looking for lots of festive things to do in the area before I go home for Christmas!
Enjoy it rather than overwork
For some reason, schools, colleges and universities all seem to set work or tests that are due after Christmas, meaning students across the country have to work during the holidays. Obviously, this can't be avoided, but last year I took it to the extreme and really overworked myself during the Christmas break (I was still going intense on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day). This year, although I'll still have some work and revision for uni, I want to not put too much pressure on myself and instead focus on enjoying the holidays.
Give back
In the busyness of Christmas, it can be easy to forget about those who don't have as much who are struggling at this time of year. Despite being such a magical festive period, it can be a huge struggle for many people. I really want to make the most of the opportunities that I can and give back this Christmas in whatever way possible. I'd love some recommendations on how I should do this, so make sure you let me know in the comments!
Try some crafts or baking
Christmas is the perfect time of year to get creative, and so I definitely want to have a go at this in the next few weeks. Me and my boyfriend both really enjoy baking, so we'll definitely be trying some festive-themed desserts. and I'm also really eager to recreate some of the gorgeous crafts and decorations flying around Pinterest.
Blog a lot more!
Since I'll be off uni for most of the Christmas period, I really want to use it to blog more, which is why I'll be doing Blogmas this year! I've honestly dreamed of taking part in Blogmas for years now but it's never been possible due to being so tight for time, but this year I feel confident that I can give it a good go! So as you're reading this, I'll be uploading every day until Christmas, so make sure you come back every day to see what festive things we have in store!
I hope you enjoyed hearing what I have planned for this year, and since I'll be attempting to do Blogmas then you'll get to follow me around every day and watch my festivities! Thank you very much for reading this post and I'll see you tomorrow with another new one!
Love from Daisy x
