If you weren't already aware, I go to a part time academy called Lipa (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) where I do singing, dance and drama classes. We put on regular shows at the theatre and do an exam, which was a musical theatre one this year. My group done Matilda the Musical at Grade 4.
I got a distinction! I'm super happy because this is my first exam where I had to sing, dance and act in it, instead of just one. It's also a higher grade than I've done before (I'm usually entered at Grade 3) so it was a great honour to get such a good mark! Here is what the examiner said:
Part 1: Introduction to Characters and Scene.
A clear, audible delivery and a confident start. 10/10 marks.
Part 2: The performance.
A well integrated programme with great ensemble work. Generally good articulation leading to a sustained performance through a concentrated, disciplined approach. Great preparation demonstrating grounded characterization. Effective choreography presenting a series of challenges for the company. Work next on vocal control for the dialogue making sure volume levels have a greater degree of control. Overall engaging work demonstrating an appropriate range of performance skills and group commitment. 76/90 marks.
So that is that! I'm honestly thrilled with how well we did, I couldn't have done it without all of the girls and my teachers. Here is my certificate I got:
That's all from me. I hope you didn't mind me posting about something that isn't fashion or beauty. I promise I'll be back tomorrow with a new post for you!
